your boat has committed to raising thus far.
- Ask your friends/family/coworkers to commit to dollar amount pledges.
- Visit with your Human Resources manager to see if they will contribute to
or match your ADA donations.

RACEWEEK WRAP-UP
Bayfield and the Apostle Islands were once again overrun with sailors for
the annual July 4th week Raceweek. Congratulations to the winners
(http://www.wyc.org/Results/SeriesOngoingResults.asp?Series_Id=26) and to
this year's organizer Herb Garcia (and his volunteers) for a great event.

RACEWEEK PHOTOS
I promise, they will be posted by Friday, or Saturday at the latest. Maybe
Sunday. Check www.wyc.org soon.

BLAKE MIDDLETON WATCH RAFFLE
$3,200 was raised for Blake via the watch raffle. Blake sends a huge thank
you to all who participated, but still no promises on cutting anyone slack
with an OCS. More details are available at http://www.wyc.org/Blake.htm

WOMEN'S RACES
The Women's Big Island series starts this Saturday and the Women's Cup races
after that. The rule is that a female must helm the boat, all other crew
positions are open to men. http://www.wyc.org/Results/schedule.asp

KIDDY REGATTA AT WAYZATA BEACH THURSDAY NIGHTS
Child bound WYC parents have been visiting Wayzata Beach/playground during
the Thursday night races. If you're an abandoned parent, think about
stopping by with your kids to hang out with some friends. Although there is
no official start time, entry fee, or awards, all other International
Playground Rules will be strictly observed. Fred Sommers will, as usual,
head up the protest committee.

LOWISA
Sailing LOWISA is a right of passage for Wayzata sailors. In so many ways
it's what sailboat racing should be. Point-to-point, family friendly,
beautiful scenery, and great people. It's not too late to get organized and
go, you've still got three weeks to plan, and I think the WYC crane is free
for this event(?). Sailing LOWISA will earn you up to three WYC
participation points and innumerable spouse chips if you bring your family.
If you have questions about sailing LOWISA, contact Steve Truax at
612-281-7589 or visit http://www.lowisa.org/

TO FIDDLERS GREEN
Richard Clark: former Commodore of the Lake Superior Yachting Association
and respected Lake Superior sailor passed away while working on his boat,
Pennycress, in late June. His family and crew still races at RaceWeek this
year, as he would have wanted.

Kimerlee (Kim) Bradford: passed away July 3rd after a long battle with
cancer. Kim sailed on Hinzite and taught celestial navigation via his
sailing school.
