BLAKE MIDDLETON WATCH RAFFLE
Blake will be out of commission for about a month while recovering from
stomach surgery to remove a tumor. This is on top of everything going on
with his MS. So...Bren went out and picked up a nice watch, and we're now
raffling it off. All proceeds will go to help Blake with these unexpected
expenses. Details about how to buy raffle tickets and learn more about
Blake's medical status are at http://www.wyc.org/Blake.htm  Even if you
don't want the watch, please think about buying some tickets. They are
available after the races from Steve or you can mail in a check.

Blake also wants to thank everyone for the success of his recent M.S. walk
fundraiser. He set a "pie-in-the-sky" goal and last I checked it looked like
he would reach it.


MATCH RACING
All the cools sailors do it, so why don't you. Monday night Match Racing is
about to start and you should contact Sean Hendrickson about getting

OSCAR GUTIERREZ
Longtime club member Oscar Gutierrez passed away last Friday from
complications related to cancer. He is survived by his wife Adrienne and
family. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am on Wednesday at the WYC
clubhouse. All members are invited.


J22 WORLDS
Congratulations to Terry and Mary Foster and Thorn Turner for their 10th
place finish at Worlds. Not bad considering there were 133 boats at the
regatta. Not far behind were Lars Hansen and Jappa Lovald. The MWST also
participated.


SPRING MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Our club bylaws required spring meeting will be at the club on June 14th at
7:00pm (at the beginning of the regularly scheduled board meeting). No
business is scheduled for this meeting, however all interested family
members are welcome to address the board at this time with your comments.


DUES REMINDER
Ernie would like to remind everyone that if your boat is listed in the
"Pending Fleet", that means you won't be scored. If you are on this list,
it's likely because you didn't register to race this season, or you haven't
paid your dues. If you race while in the pending fleet, your DSQ'd races
will NOT be restored after you've paid up.
