ADA REGATTA THIS WEEKEND
This Saturday and Sunday is the 5th Annual WYC American Diabetes Association
Regatta. If you've never attended this regatta, it's a big deal with great
food, silent auction, music and there's even boat racing!
You can register on Thursday night, by contacting the ADA directly, by
downloading a form from http://www.wyc.org/ada.htm or by showing up between
8:00am and 9:00am on Saturday morning.
Pledges are strongly encouraged but not required. Get your crew to chip in
some money and you'll be fine. Or get some real pledges or talk to your
employer about matching your boat donations and you'll be a hero before you
even hit the race course. And if you can't find crew, kill two birds with
one stone by convincing your coworker/family/neighbor donors to bid for crew
positions on your boat.
This is a marquee event for our club that raises 10's of thousands of
dollars every year in the name of our club and sailing. It's a fun regatta,
Commodore Brigham has guaranteed that we'll have excellent wind, they have
great keeper trophies, and you get to do a good thing. Visit
http://www.wyc.org/ada.htm for more info and see you Saturday morning!
CHICAGO MAC
Congratulations to Bill Peterson, three generations of Nimmers, and the
entire crew of Chewbacca for winning Section 1 of the Chicago Mac. Other WYC
entrants included Quintessence III with a very respectable 4th, and Chippewa
(who won Fleet A at RaceWeek this year) with a mid fleet finish in the very
competitive Farr 395 Class. Lars Hanson won the J105 class with IL sailor
Brag Wagner. I don't keep track of this stuff, but I'm going to unofficially
declare this as AIS's best showing ever at the Chicago Mac.

WANTED: ARTSY CRAFTY PERSON
The club is looking to redesign the turnaround/entry area with a nice sign
that identifies our club to the city. If you have some creative skills and
could help in the design and creation of a permanent sign for our club, this
is your opportunity to make a lasting impression on your club and Wayzata.
For more information, please contact Dallas at 952-935-3465.
