CHAMPIONSHIP OF CHAMPIONS
The best spectating event of the year is this Wednesday August 23rd at 6:00pm next to Lighthouse Island. The fleet champions of MYC and WYC will face off in 420's for the greatest championship race on earth. The quality of the racers is only exceeded by the quality of the cooks who prepare the gourmet dinner after the event.

Put your motor on your boat and head over to watch the races with your friends and then have dinner at Lighthouse Island. This event qualifies for date points, so bring the spouse and kids. And don't forget your horn to support your club! Race is free, dinner is about $15 for adults and worth every penny. Menu and details at http://www.mycsailing.org/

J22 NORTH AMERICANS
Can you hear it? That rumbling sound in the distance. It's going to get LOUDER. The sound is dozens of J22 trailers with oversized SUV's driving to WYC from all over the country for the best regatta of the year.

We're expecting upwards of 70 boats for the J22 North Americans this year at WYC. This event is going to put our club in a national spotlight for a week and stretch us to the limit. To ensure this event runs smoothly, we'll be...
- Closing off the west parking lot for the week.
- We're looking for homes to host visiting sailors
- We're going to need boat slips to accommodate 70 wet sailed boats in our 140 boat marina. If you haven't been contacted already, and you have a location you can move your boat to for a week, please contact the J22 Fleet to coordinate.
- We need a small army of people to help with lunches and spectator boats. Great way to earn a t-shirt.
- It's going to be glorious chaos!
- Details at http://j22northamericans.com

BURTON CUP
Have I made it clear over the years that this is the best race of the year? Both WYC and MYC boats racing around the lake with none of that wimpy windward/leeward course business. Think you can beat an A scow boat for boat? Go knock yourself out. Race starts Saturday August 26th in front of Lighthouse Island. Please watch out for scows starting before the WYC starts! Corn Roast Dinner at host club MYC's Lighthouse Island on Saturday evening at 6:00, dinner RSVP info at www.mycsailing.org

CAPRI DOCK PARTY
The best party of the year is August 27th on C Dock. I have no idea what the theme is, but I know the food and refreshments and everything will be great. You all know the drill by now, and please don't fall off the dock. http://www.wyc.org/capri25/

CREW MEMBERSHIPS
The best deal in all of sports! $70 and you get access to the lake, fancy yachts to race on, free drinks for the summer, a place to park in Wayzata, your name in the WYC log, and all the implied benefits bestowed upon WYC Crew Members. If you're a member, you're the best because you make it all happen. If you're not a member, then you're probably a new guest to the club. If you're not one of those, then you're a hanger-on leach. But it's not to late to change your ways for a measly $70. http://www.wyc.org/about.htm#How%20to%20Join

WSS FALL PROGRAMS
The best youth sailing in the solar system (including Pluto, which IS a planet) is ramping up it's Fall Sailing for 2006 with a new program design. Check it out, call your friends, join up and get your Jr. High and H.S. friends into sailing. You don't need boats, you don't need specialized gear, you don't need ton's of money. Send this link to any youth you know who wants to do something adventurous they can brag to their friends about. All kids invited, members or non-members, sailors or non-sailors. http://www.wayzatasailing.org/r-Fall-Program.htm

Thanks for playing, you're the BEST!
