WINE ON WAYZATA BAY
The reviews are in and WOW ended up delivering big time with great wine and great winds. Over 30k raised and hundreds of community members were introduced to WYC at the wine tasting. Contratulations to Bob Carpenter and Team Jalepeno who spearheaded this effort (along with Pete Ice). Our beloved club photographer shot some pics of the Opti sailors who raced last Friday in 20-30mph winds. Too windy for the Lasers and 420's, but the Opti's had a great time. Oh...to be 12 years old again.

WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN
Two issues to consider concerning sailors. 

1.  Government gone wild is threatening to enact severe limitations on recreational boating by forcing recreational boats to conform to regulations written for large commercial ships. Please request to your congressional representative to have H.R. 5949/S. 2766  passed before September 30, 2008. 2. Latitude 38 has been following the trial of a CA sailor charged with manslaughter after a powerboater rammed his boat and killed a passenger while traveling at over 40mph at night. Sounds crazy until you discover the powerboat driver, who has NOT been charged with anything, is a local Deputy Sheriff. It's too crazy to believe, but still the story continues. Please write a letter and help stop the madness.
