LAKE MINNETONKA WATER LEVEL IS DOWN

Water levels haven’t been this low since May 4.

- On the way to the crane, stay close to the J24 dolphin poles to avoid
debris from the powerboat ramp.

- If your boat is on a lift, make sure you can still get off of it,
especially if you haven’t sailed in a while.

- If your draft is over 4.5 feet, you might consider pulling your boat
early to make sure you are able to get to the crane.

WYC DOCK ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Over the last month, all the dock ground fault interrupter (GFI) outlets
have been tested for reliability and several have been replaced. If you use
dock power for boat lifts or other equipment, please help us keep the docks
safe:

- Inspect your cords regularly and replace them if they are damaged or
worn.

- Secure cords to keep them out of the water, and unplug them when not in
use.

- Test GFIs before plugging in to them.

LASER SAILING – START PLANNING FOR 2013

The Wayzata Yacht Club Laser Fleet invites you race with them on Tuesday
nights from mid-April through mid-September. Races are set up in Wayzata
Bay and run by the WYC race committee, with 15 - 25 lasers on the line.
Sailors of all skill levels and ages participate in races, and many of the
Laser sailors are also WYC keelboat racers.

Even if you don’t have your own boat, you can contact Kurt Holtz, Laser
Fleet Captain to make arrangements for a boat or just come out. There are 5
to 6 races every Tuesday night. This allows interested sailors to rotate
with a fleet member for one or more races. They also have a powerboat on
the water during races if you prefer to spectate. The fleet offers periodic
clinics to help improve skills. Many of the fleet members travel to several
regattas every year. This year sailors traveled to regattas in Duluth and
Gull Lake. And there’s a Thanksgiving Day regatta on Lake Calhoun every
year – sun or snow.

Check out this YouTube video of their final Tuesday night race on September
